How to transfer a design onto fabric?

Embroidery design tracing

Do you know how hand embroidery works? In this post, I am going to explain the steps on how to transfer a design you want to embroider onto the material. There are several transfer methods, and I will explain the common method I often use.

Use a water soluble fabric marker to trace the design directly onto the fabric. So, the design will fade away after washing. This tracing method works well on light-colored fine weave fabric. If it is dark colored thick fabric, then use a piece of white chalk for tracing the design.

Once you have finished tracing, you can start embroidering.

How to create crafts with SVG designs

SVG refers to Scalable Vector Graphic. These graphics can be resized using software without losing its quality. Mostly used in crafts, they are handled with cutting machines. SVG designs can be used to make cards, scrapbooks, accessories, and many other craft ideas.

These graphics are great for making personalized gifts. Apart from regular embroidery patterns that require stitching, you may simply choose to apply these fashionable graphics onto your crafts and gifts. Printing directly onto fabric or other tracing methods can be followed.
