The basic materials required to begin embroidering

Whether you are an experienced embroiderer or a beginner, these accessories should be readily-accessible to complete your embroidery work successfully. All you need is the right tools to begin, and over time, your needs will vary as you master the art of embroidery.

Embroidery needle kits

The embroidery needle is the primary accessory. You may buy needles in different sizes or may go with a needle pack, which includes needles of different sizes.

Embroidery thread

Unlike sewing thread, embroidery thread is different from regular sewing thread. Embroidery thread is thick and shiny, which can be divided into multiple strands. Buy cotton or Polyester floss of various shades.

Embroidery scissors

Embroidery scissors are different from normal scissors and have sharp and curvy edges. So, the sharp points could easily reach the material and cut the excess threads.

Embroidery hoop

Embroidery frames or hoops are used to stretch the fabric or canvas you are working with. They are made of various materials like wood and metal and arrive in different sizes. It is good to have hoops of different sizes to work with various material sizes.

Transfer paper & pencils

Incase; if you are tracing or transferring a design onto the fabric, you can simply trace the design to the material from the transferring paper using a pencil or pen.
