Tips for machine embroiderers

machine embroidery basics

Getting used to machine embroidery requires experience. Discover the tools and materials to start machine embroidery. Having an embroidery machine that is in perfect working order is the top requirement. Here are the rest:

Embroidery machine

Start by investing in a good quality embroidery machine. Many brands offer different models for versatile use, such as sewing and embroidery, or only just embroidery. Your choice of model should mainly depend on your requirements and your expectations.

Stabilizer

A stabilizer is a supporting adhesive used to hold the fabric while stitching on the machine. It grips the material perfectly as well as prevents moving as you pass the embroidery design through the machine. They are made according to your embroidery requirements. Water-soluble stabilizers are used for mesh fabrics and dissolve after machine washing.

Embroidery floss

The embroidery thread makes a big difference in your final design. Traditional sewing floss is not used in machine embroidery instead, embroidery threads are used to do the job. Always focus on product quality and the material used for making. High-quality Polyester and cotton thread is a good choice. Make sure you include the same brand into a project to get the right and even finish.
